Abstract

Perioperative risk assessment and management is increasingly an important role for pediatric anesthesiologists. Balancing operating room schedules, hospital costs, and patient care needs is challenging. Evidence addressing perioperative risk for elective procedures in pediatric patients has accumulated over the past 20 years in an eff ort to guide decision- making.
