abstract = "Multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) provides anatomical and functional imaging of tissues without the need for reporter molecules or cell transfection. We examined the acute vascular disrupting activity of a new vascular disrupting agent (OXi8007) using MSOT on syngeneic mouse RENCA-luc, human 786-O-luc, and XP258 orthotopic kidney tumors. In all tumor types, an oxygen gas breathing challenge showed much-reduced tumor oxygenation and response within 4 h of treatment. In RENCA-luc and 786-O-luc tumors, this matched vascular shutdown assessed by dynamic Bioluminescence Imaging (BLI). MSOT additionally confirmed that VDA treatment did not affect the contralateral normal kidney or spine significantly.",
