Abstract

This chapter summarizes the basics and history of acetabulum fractures their classification. The goal of the chapter is to provide an evidence based review to allow readers to address the top issues in the treatment of these complex injuries: pre-operative imaging, surgical indications, special considerations in elderly patients, thromboprophylaxis, heterotopic ossification prophylaxis, expected functional outcomes, and prognostic factors.
